Betty’s Bay – The Sand Dunes, the Penguins and the Flowers

This tour will leave early (6am) in the morning from Studio7 in the Strand to reach the coastal sand dunes at Betty’s Bay nice and early. We will spend at least 2 hours doing some glorious photography of the early sunrise and lighting on the dunes and beach.

Afterwards we will continue on to the penguin colony at Stoney Point. These Penguins at Stoney Point is one of only two shore-based breeding colonies in South Africa with the more famous breeding colony at the Boulders Beach near Simonstown. The best times to view the birds are early in the morning or late in the afternoon when they return from their 20 kilometre fishing expeditions.

Then we are off to the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens for some long exposure photo shoots in the river, as well some macro photography of the flowers. We will end off with a lunch at the restaurant, before returning back to Somerset West!
