Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve is part of the UNESCO declared Cape Winelands Biosphere Reserve. Situated in the Franschhoek Mountains, the reserve offers spectacular views of the Franschhoek Valley, diverse plant life and well-maintained hiking trails. Only an hour’s drive from Cape Town, this reserve is not to be missed by hikers and nature lovers.
This excursion will depart ???????? from Studio7 in the Strand. We will head to the town of Franschhoek and then up the Franschhoek Pass where we will park at the entrance to the reserve.
After parking Andreas will lead you up the mountain interpreting all the various natural sights, while Steve will point out interesting photographic opportunities on the way.
During the winter months there is often snow on the high peaks of the mountains and Mont Rochelle offers a lovely opportunity to get close for wonderful photographs.
After the photographic excursions we will return to Studio7 were Steve will facilitate an assessment session critiquing the day’s work and provide feedback on the photographs taken. We will end the day with some refreshments while saying goodbye.
